Comparison page

A comparison page sets two products side by side for buyers who are choosing between them, like “Kettlebook and Paperwren compared”. It's often written by one of the two companies.

Also called vs page

Kettlebook and Paperwren are invented products we use in examples. A buyer choosing between two tools may search “X vs Y”, and software companies publish these pages widely. Peec AI and AthenaHQ, for example, both publish comparisons with their rivals (Peec AI; AthenaHQ).

On their own, comparison pages are a small share of what AI tools quote: comparisons and alternatives pages together made up under 3% of quoted pages in AirOps’ review (AirOps). So one isn’t a shortcut. It’s a page that puts your facts in front of a buyer, and an AI tool, at the moment they compare.

Write it so a buyer could trust it: the rival’s strengths as well as yours, prices as each company publishes them, and the date you checked. Our own comparisons follow these rules.
